CAPF Recruitment 2026: 282 Medical Officer Posts, Salary Up to ₹2.09 Lakh
Doctors looking for a prestigious Central Government career have a great opportunity through the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) Medical Officer Recruitment 2026. A total of 282 Group A Gazetted Medical Officer posts are being filled in BSF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB and Assam Rifles. Eligible male and female candidates with MBBS and relevant postgraduate medical qualifications can apply online from August 10 to September 8, 2026.
The recruitment includes Super Specialist Medical Officer, Specialist Medical Officer and Medical Officer posts. There are 5 Super Specialist vacancies with a pay scale of ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200, 162 Specialist vacancies with a salary of ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700, and 115 Medical Officer vacancies offering ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500 per month. Selected candidates may also receive benefits such as Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance and Non-Practicing Allowance as applicable.
For the Super Specialist post, candidates must have an MBBS degree along with a recognized DM or M.Ch qualification and three years of relevant experience. Specialist Medical Officer applicants need an MBBS and relevant PG degree or diploma, with the required professional experience. For Medical Officer posts, an MBBS degree and completion of the mandatory rotating internship are required. Medical registration with the State or National Medical Council is compulsory.
The maximum age limit is 50 years for Super Specialists, 40 years for Specialists and 30 years for Medical Officers as on September 8, 2026. SC/ST candidates receive five years and OBC candidates three years of relaxation, as per rules.
Physical standards are also applicable. Male candidates generally require a minimum height of 157.5 cm and prescribed chest measurements, while female candidates require a minimum height of 142 cm. Relaxations are available for eligible categories.
Importantly, there is no written examination. Shortlisted candidates will appear for a 200-mark interview and must secure at least 40% marks. Successful candidates will then undergo Physical Standard Test and Medical Examination before final selection.
The application fee is ₹400 for General, OBC and EWS male candidates. SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and women candidates are exempted.
