India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: SSLC Pass Candidates
Good news for candidates who have completed SSLC and are looking for a Central Government job! The Department of Posts, India has announced recruitment for various Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts, including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. Eligible candidates from Karnataka and other states can apply online.
The recruitment is especially attractive because there is no written examination or interview. Selection is based on a merit list prepared according to candidates’ SSLC marks. The one-time registration process is scheduled to be completed before the application deadline of September 19, 2026.

Candidates must have passed SSLC from a recognized board and should have studied Mathematics and English. They must also know the local language of the postal circle for which they apply.
Age Limit
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and not more than 40 years as per the prescribed cutoff date. Age relaxation is available according to government rules. OBC candidates get 3 years, SC/ST candidates get 5 years and eligible persons with disabilities get 10 years of relaxation.
Application Fee
General, OBC and EWS candidates are required to pay ₹100. SC, ST, women, transgender candidates and persons with disabilities are exempted from the application fee.
Salary
Selected candidates will receive monthly TRCA-based remuneration. BPM posts offer approximately ₹12,000 to ₹29,380, while ABPM and Dak Sevak posts offer around ₹10,000 to ₹24,470, depending on the applicable rules and workload.
Selection Process
There is no written examination. Candidates are shortlisted through an online merit list prepared using their SSLC marks. Therefore, applicants should carefully enter their academic details during registration.
