Indian Overseas Bank Recruitment 2026: 250 Local Bank Officer Posts
Hello friends, here is great news for graduates looking for a banking career, especially candidates from Karnataka. Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has invited online applications for 250 Local Bank Officer (LBO) posts under Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Of these, 50 vacancies are available in Karnataka.
Candidates with a degree in any discipline can apply. Those selected will receive a basic salary ranging from ₹48,480 to ₹85,920, along with applicable allowances. Candidates applying for Karnataka vacancies must have knowledge of Kannada.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed graduation in any discipline from a Central Government or UGC-recognized university. Candidates from Arts, Commerce, Science, B.E., B.Tech and other eligible degree backgrounds can apply.
Age Limit
As on August 1, 2026, applicants should be between 20 and 30 years.
- SC/ST: 5 years relaxation
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
Karnataka Reservation
Out of 50 Karnataka posts, the vacancies include 19 UR, 16 OBC, 8 SC, 4 EWS and 3 ST positions. PwBD reservation is horizontal.
Selection Process
Selection will be based on an online examination and personal interview. There will be 0.25 marks negative marking for every wrong answer. The final merit list will give 80% weightage to the online exam and 20% to the interview.
The exam consists of Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and English Language, with a total of 140 questions for 200 marks in three hours.
Kannada Language Requirement
Karnataka applicants must be able to read, write and speak Kannada. Candidates who have not studied Kannada in 10th or 12th standard may have to appear for a Local Language Test.
